ENGLISH WEBVTT → SPANISH WEBVTT
Translate VTT subtitles.
English → Spanish WebVTT only. The original cue times stay at the same millisecond values. Have an SRT file? Use the SRT translator.
Choose a VTT file to start.
Your subtitle file and text stay in this browser. Translation runs on your device; the model and WASM runtime are downloaded, but no subtitle text is sent to a translation API.
Review each translated VTT cue
Compare the source and edit the Spanish text before downloading WebVTT. Timestamp values are preserved.
Measured on this Windows machine
The English → Spanish model downloaded 113,112,546 bytes of quantized ONNX weights in the browser test; the local ONNX WASM runtime is 21,596,019 bytes. With browser model caching bypassed for a test run, model loading took 13.2 seconds and translating three short VTT cues took 18.6 seconds in total on this machine. A separate cached VTT run of three cues took 11.7 seconds in total. Network, device and subtitle length change these times; they are observations, not speed guarantees. On this 4 GB machine, a production test tab crashed while several other model-test tabs were open; translation succeeded after those tabs were closed. Low-memory devices may also close a tab during loading.
Review before publishing
Names, technical terms, slang, sentence fragments and line breaks need human review. The test translated “Subtitle Desk” literally rather than recognizing it as a product name. This tool does not translate speech or image subtitles, detect the input language, or change cue timing. It keeps cue start and end values, but re-formats timestamps to the chosen output format and does not retain VTT cue IDs, styles or positioning.
Other tools: VTT to SRT, SRT to VTT, Text to SRT, SRT to TXT, VTT to TXT, Subtitle Converter, ASS to SRT, PGS OCR, CPS Checker, Subtitle Editor, Auto Captions, Video to Text, Add Subtitles to Video, and Extract from MKV.
Translate an SRT file
For English .srt in and Spanish .srt out, use the SRT translator. Compare and correct each cue before downloading; timestamps stay in place.
Translate speech from a video
For an English or Spanish MP4, create editable timed subtitles locally with the video subtitle translator. Review the generated text and download SRT or VTT; the video itself is not changed.
Translate a pasted timed transcript
If you have timestamped English text from a YouTube transcript, the YouTube subtitle translator makes editable Spanish SRT or VTT locally. It does not fetch a YouTube URL or scrape captions.
