What the timing warnings mean

“Invalid timing” means an end time is at or before its start. “Overlaps previous cue” means this cue starts before the previous cue ends in the current list order. Overlaps are highlighted but can still be exported; invalid timing must be fixed first. A negative shift that would put a cue before zero is rejected.

This editor imports readable SRT cues and WebVTT cues. VTT NOTE, STYLE, REGION, cue identifiers, positioning settings and formatting outside cue text are not preserved. When exporting VTT as SRT, inline VTT tags are stripped and common character entities are decoded. Review the imported cue count before downloading. Search and replace is literal and case-sensitive.

Create timed English captions from audio or video with auto captions. Other tools: VTT to SRT, SRT to VTT, Text to SRT, SRT to TXT, VTT to TXT, subtitle converter, ASS to SRT, SUP to SRT, and CPS checker.
