ENGLISH .SRT → SPANISH .SRT
SRT translator.
One language pair: English → Spanish. This page reads .srt and downloads .srt. Cue start and end times stay at the same millisecond values.
Choose an SRT file to start.
Your SRT file and subtitle text stay in this browser. The translation model runs on your device; only model and runtime files download. No subtitle text goes to a translation API.
Compare and correct each SRT cue
Original English and editable Spanish appear together. Check names, terms and phrasing before exporting the numbered SRT.
Measured with an SRT sample
On this Windows machine, a three-cue SRT translated locally. The downloaded SRT kept the original cue intervals 00:00:00,500–00:00:02,800; 00:00:03,000–00:00:05,250; and 00:00:06,000–00:00:09,125. An edit to the first Spanish cue appeared in the downloaded file. This page's cached three-cue test took 13.6 seconds in total; time varies with device, network and file length.
Translation boundaries
The English → Spanish model requires 113,112,546 bytes of quantized ONNX weights; the site's WASM runtime is 21,596,019 bytes. Names, idioms, technical terms, sentence fragments and line breaks need review. HTML-like styling inside SRT cues is removed before translation; sequence numbers are regenerated in order, while cue time values stay unchanged. This tool does not transcribe speech or translate image subtitles. Low-memory browsers may close during model loading.
Have a WebVTT file instead? Use Translate VTT subtitles. Other tasks: edit SRT timing, convert SRT to VTT, or extract SRT from MKV.
Translate speech from a video
For an English or Spanish MP4, create editable timed subtitles locally with the video subtitle translator. Review the generated text and download SRT or VTT; the video itself is not changed.
Translate a pasted timed transcript
If you have timestamped English text from a YouTube transcript, the YouTube subtitle translator makes editable Spanish SRT or VTT locally. It does not fetch a YouTube URL or scrape captions.
